Matilda Bogner is an Australian-born Head of the UN for Human Rights. She is a devoted reporter who has traveled around the globe to monitor events. Tilda is a human rights activist who has worked with the UN department for 17 years.

 

Early Life / Childhood

Matilda Bogner was born in 1970 and grew up in Australia with her parents and siblings. There she learned how to cohabit with people of different races and origins. Her primary and secondary education broadened her knowledge and love for humanity which propelled her to chase a career in that direction.

 

Education

Human rights activist Matilda is an elite and wise reporter who reports situations with facts. Her educational background is yet to be traced but reports have it that She obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Uppsala in 1993, and later obtained a Master of Laws degree from the same institution in 1998. She subsequently got her Master of Laws degree in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC. Also looking at the position she occupies as the UN High commissioner for Human rights; we can vehemently assert that she is Educated. Husband / Family

Matilda Boogner is happily married with four kids. The year of her marriage is not in the media. She and her family are currently living in Ukraine.

Career

As a fresh graduate, Bogner worked as a lawyer in private practice in Stockholm, Sweden. This is where she got some experience which eventually landed her in the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Matilda worked on issues where related to human rights and international law both for Sweden and in affiliation with UN Assembly. People began to recommend her work which pursued UN appointed her as a legal officer with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland in 2000. She continued to promote the law and protect helpless citizens by speaking for them.

In 2006, she was made the head of (OHCHR) in Central Asia and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. She was among UN support missions in Libya and Belarus.

Having served with diligence and integrity. In 2014, Bogner was made the Director of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency’s Department for Democracy, Human Rights, and Gender Equality. This is where she became a figurehead in human rights activism both in and out United Nations. She reported fearlessly with the life and well-being of the people were her priority.

In 2019, Bogner replaced Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein as the head of the United Nations Human Rights Office. Other activists worked closely with her to deliver unwavering service to people. She is a  leading voice on issues related to the rule of law and democracy, highlighting the importance of the rule of law. Matilda is currently in Ukraine reporting the situation in the country. She is highly respected.
