Kabelo Gwamanda was born in the 1972 in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa. He grew up in a political family and was raised by his mother. Gwamanda attended local schools in Alexandra and went to University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in south Africa.

 

Political Career

Gwamanda Kabelo began his political career as a student activist at Johannesburg, where he was involved in protests against the SA education policies.

After completing his studies, Gwamanda worked as a clerk for Justice Ismail Mahomed at the Constitutional Court of South Africa. He later joined the African National Congress (ANC) and served as a member of its youth league.

Kabelo is also a founding member of the Treatment Action Campaign, a non-profit organization that campaigns for access to HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention in South Africa.
